Auburn football had a smashing victory over the #10 Ole Miss Rebels on Saturday, but that wasn’t the only victory for the Tigers in Jordan-Hare. Hosting a ranked SEC matchup means hosting visiting recruits from all over the country, and the Plains sure put on a show.
One of the notable visitors in Jordan-Hare Stadium this weekend was LSU commit JaDarian Rhym. Ever since the news broke that Coach Ed Orgeron would not be returning to the Bayou Bengals’ program, the recruiting game was changed and first-year head coach Bryan Harsin and his staff have not given up on several targets in LSU’s 2022 class.
Rhym, who is currently listed as the #18 player out of the state of Georgia and the #21 cornerback in the recruiting class of 2022, visited the Auburn football program for the first time this weekend. The CB said after the game he’s locked in between Georgia, Auburn, and LSU, but he could definitely picture himself on the Plains.
Per Auburn Rivals, Rhym was able to meet with cornerbacks coach Zac Etheridge this weekend in addition to Bryan Harsin and Derek Mason:
"“They was saying that they want me real bad and that when I come in they want me to compete and they was telling me that they can develop me and I’ll be part of a family,” Rhym said."
Rhym previously said that his decision to leave LSU would be based upon whether or not cornerbacks coach Corey Raymond is retained on the staff, and proximity to Rhym’s home is working in Auburn’s favor, per Auburn Undercover:
"“It’s Auburn,” Rhym said. “I feel like that’s a great fit for me. They have a good shot. It’s close to home, only like three hours away,” Rhym said."
Though there are several factors playing into when Rhym announces his decision to stay at LSU or choose a new school, it’s certain that the 4-star cornerback will be on the Plains for the Iron Bowl at the end of the month.
