Auburn football: 3 Reasons why the Tigers take down Texas A&M
Reason #3: The stakes are higher for Auburn football
The Tigers are in the driver’s seat of the SEC West. Bryan Harsin’s first team on the Plains has a chance to win the conference and sits at 6-2 when most people thought the best he’d produce was 7-5. Though that final record isn’t out of the realm of possibility yet, the team is certainly on an upward trajectory after beating three SEC opponents in a row.
With Alabama’s loss to Texas A&M and Ole Miss’s loss to Auburn, the Tigers are in the position to face the Georgia Bulldogs for a second time this season if they win the last four games on the schedule.
No other team, including the Aggies, has control of its destiny in this way. Every other team is banking on the outcome of other games and on other teams to lose, but the responsibility of getting to Atlanta rests squarely on the shoulders of the Tigers.
And you better believe that the players have bought into the new culture that Bryan Harsin has instilled on the Plains. The Tigers have a chip on their shoulder after a coaching change and major upheavals in the program, and they’re in it to win it this season.
#12 Auburn versus #13 Texas A&M will kick off from Kyle Field at 2:30 pm central time.
