Auburn football went head to head with their third ranked SEC opponent in a row and suffered a tough loss on the road to the Texas A&M Aggies. Though the Tigers’ defense showed up to play, the offense struggled to produce points in all four quarters.

The AP voters dropped Auburn football from #12 to #16 following the loss, while their #13 opponents moved up to the #11 spot, and suddenly the bowl projections for the postseason look nothing like they did last week.

BowlSeason.com released their initial predictions following last week’s games and forecasted an Auburn-Oklahoma matchup in the Allstate Sugar Bowl. The Tigers last faced the Sooners in 2017 at the same exact game. However, after the loss to TAMU, a New Year’s Six bowl game may be a little too ambitious for Bryan Harsin’s first team on the Plains.

The bowl game speculation after Week 10 has begun, and there are several possible games that we could potentially see the Tigers playing in this year’s postseason.

One of the popular predictions is Auburn football in the Gator Bowl. While some ESPN thinks the opponent could be Clemson, others at 247Sports have pointed to Pittsburgh. Meanwhile, CBS’s Jerry Palm predicts Auburn vs. Miami.

While the Sugar Bowl may be off the table, Auburn football still has plenty to play for with a 6-3 record. Mississippi State and South Carolina both stand in between Auburn and the Iron Bowl, but securing a victory over the Tide in Jordan-Hare Stadium isn’t out of the question, either.

The Texas A&M loss pushes a conference title for the Tigers further out of reach, but anything is possible with the year that college football has had. Either way, Bryan Harsin is changing the culture surrounding the program and pushing the team towards future success.
