The early signing period is fast approaching, but there is at least one prospect Auburn football doesn’t have to worry about securing by December. Antavious Woody is currently committed to the Florida State Seminoles, but the Tigers are not losing the two-way lineman without a fight.

Woody, who hails from Lafayette, Alabama, is ranked as the #13 prospect out of the state and the #15 inside offensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2022. The 4-star offensive tackle originally committed to FSU back in July but has been to the Plains twice this season to experience home games at Jordan-Hare Stadium.

Keith Niebuhr of Auburn Undercover reports that Woody often communicates with Auburn offensive line coach Will Friend and defensive line coach Nick Eason, and he’s being recruited on both sides of the ball with his final position to be determined at a later date.

Woody will be at the Florida State-Miami game this weekend but plans to unofficially visit Auburn football for the third time at the end of November for the Iron Bowl. While the Tigers are certainly in the mix for the lineman and are recruiting him hard, it’s going to take a lot to turn the tides for Woody.

Lucky for first-year head coach Bryan Harsin and the rest of his staff, Woody does not plan to sign in December so there is plenty of time for the Tigers to secure his commitment.

Auburn football’s recruiting class of 2022 still sits at 13th place in the SEC, second-to-last ahead of Vanderbilt, which is largely due to the small number of commits the Tigers have at this point. Both Auburn and Florida hold the smallest 2022 rosters at the moment with 13 commits, but we can expect the number to grow when early enrollees sign in December.
