Auburn football fans do not find imitation to be the sincerest form of flattery when it comes to one of their primary traditions.
AU is known for getting up for Saturdays, with cars lining the sidewalks parked in a way thatβs only allowed on game day. The crown jewel ritual on the Plains is rolling the trees after a significant sporting victory for Auburn (or for the Braves).
So what happened Wake Forest QB Sam Hartman asked Demon Deacon fans to do the same after their win against NC State?
Anger. And a lot of it:

Wake Forest rolling the trees after a W??? Oh hell naw. Give me them in a shitty bowl game that takes place in Florida sometime around the end of December. https://t.co/6wQNP54YG8

Perhaps the two teams could duke it out during bowl season to determine which program is the current king of tree rolling.
Then again, Auburn football fans should be careful what they wish for considering that what Mississippi State Will Rogers did to the defense could be a bellwether for how the defense would fare against a Hartman-led offense.
