Friday night was the Conference USA Championship game between Western Kentucky and UTSA, but Auburn football fans were only focused on one specific aspect of the contest.
And it wasn’t the Hilltoppers’ matador defense.
Instead, it was WKU’s Zach Kittley, who was rumored to be a candidate for the vacant Tigers offensive coordinator job.
Tiger fans were all over his play-calling, which started off hot with a couple of downfield throws that got the Auburn family excited about the prospect of Kittley moving south to the Plains (and the SEC):

Hill would be the only other one I’d want auburn needs to innovate the passing game and kittley would be perfect for that

I like running the ball as well but kittleys offense uses the pass as a extension of the run auburn will never go full air raid but having a guy like kittley to innovate the passing game would be huge

Western Kentucky QB Bailey Zappe ended the first half with over 300 yards passing. Imagining what Bo Nix, who appears to be returning to the Plains after rumors of the former 5-star dual-threat weighing his options, can do in that offense should make any Auburn football fan salivate.
Then again, Kittley is far from guaranteed to be the next OC.
