For the past few days, it has been nonstop speculation when it comes to Auburn football. Who is leaving, who is staying, and when will we get a new offensive coordinator? With Bo Nix’s announcement that he will enter the transfer portal, all eyes have turned to sophomore running back Tank Bigsby, who was reportedly assessing his options following the end of the regular season.

After many reports that have confirmed Bigsby to stay or leave the Auburn football program, several insiders are indicating that the running back has been persuaded to return for the 2022 season, including Jake Crain of the Jboy Show and Justin Hokanson of Auburn Live.

The expectation as of this morning was that Bigsby planned to transfer after the running back did not show up to practice for the bowl game along with seniors Zakoby McClain and Roger McCreary. However, Justin Hokanson reports that Bigsby will not enter the transfer portal and will remain on the Plains after sitting for meetings with Auburn football’s coaching staff today.

Firing former offensive coordinator Mike Bobo probably had a lot to do with selling Tank Bigsby on the vision. After watching the star running back on the sidelines in critical situations time and time again last season, it’s obvious that Bigsby wants to be on a team where he can make an impact.

With a new offense on its way to the Plains, it’s apparent that the coaches have convinced Bigsby that he will be a vital tool in the Tigers’ success to keep him out of the transfer portal. A public announcement is expected from the RB later tonight.
