This CFP contender would be the perfect transfer portal landing spot for Bo Nix

Goodbye Bo Nix.

The former 5-star dual-threat QB was a three-year fixture under center for the Auburn Tigers and had a radical roller coaster ride of a time on the Plains. He now takes his talents to the transfer portal in hopes of finding a team he could find consistency with–remember, the offensive coordinator was a revolving door–and perhaps find an easier fanbase to impress.

Nix leaves at a time of suffering on the football side of Auburn fandom. AU has had to watch Alabama rise to the level of historically dominant while Georgia has also made several College Football Playoff appearances. Under Gus Malzahn, the Tigers appeared to be under a glass ceiling while still mostly finishing within the top three of the SEC West.

We’re now in uncharted territories after finishing sixth in the division, just above an LSU program that fired their head coach after wild rumors of him involving his personal life into his team practices.

We thought there was something special in the season’s first two thirds, where easy non-conference victories, of course minus leaving Happy Valley with a kick in the groin from refs on a phantom game-deciding targeting call, dominated the schedule before an impressive 3-1 month with SEC play beginning.

But that winless final month now has the team unsure of who will be QB1 or RB1 next season due to a slew of transfer moves.

A lot of controlled breathing, waiting, and seeing is needed for Tiger fans trying to figure out what’s next for Auburn football.

Bo Nix’s next steps are a bit easier to prognosticate considering he is a singular being. There are a slew of teams likely to be interested in his services, but only one provides the perfect opportunity to step into a perfect situation for his goals…

CFP contender Cincinnati is the perfect Bo Nix transfer portal landing spot

With the Bearcats making history as the first Group of Five team to crash the College Football Playoff party, the Cincinnati brand is now strong.

It’d coincidentally gained significant strength when former Auburn head coach Tommy Tuberville coached there, but it’d be taken to the next stratosphere with Bo Nix choosing to leave the SEC to go there.

Remember, UC won’t be in the Big 12 for a few more seasons, so Nix could beat up on the likes of Tulsa, Temple, and USF before the Bearcats step up in weight class. That’s an easier way to make NFL Draft highlight reels than taking on the likes of Alabama and Georgia.

At this point, leaving the SEC would make it infinitely easier to cheer for Nix in his next home, especially if it’s a Cincinnati team that just pulled off the upset of the century against Alabama in the CFP.
