Auburn football currently has the #6 recruiting class in the Southeastern Conference and the #13 class nationally, which is mostly due to the massive amount of signees the Tigers had during the early signing period.

One of those players, 3-star tight end Micah Riley-Ducker, has been committed to Bryan Harsin’s Tigers since July and has been a strong recruiter for the program ever since along with Holden Geriner and Damari Alston. Now, there’s a chance that his older brother could become a Tiger, as well.

Jay Ducker, a 3-star running back for the Northern Illinois Huskies, has officially decided to enter the transfer portal. Although Auburn football already has stars Tank Bigsby and Jarquez Hunter on the roster, Ducker could be a nice addition to round out the 2022 RB room.

Ducker was part of the Huskies’ class of 2020 but did not see any game action that year due to a preseason injury. However, he finished the 2021 season with 1,184 rushing yards on 218 attempts for three touchdowns. Although Ducker was pretty far down on the depth chart at the beginning of the season, injuries gave him his chance to start mid-way through the season.

The running back was named MAC Freshman of the Year and helped lead the Huskies to win the MAC title this season. Though Northern Illinois recently lost their bowl game to the Coastal Carolina Chanticleers, Ducker rushed for 146 yards and broke the program record for rushing yards in a freshman season.

Auburn athletics centers around family, so getting Micah Riley-Ducker’s brother to the Plains would make logical sense and could add depth to the 2022 running backs room.
