Auburn football set to host Florida OL commit for official visit
With most of the offensive line from 2021 returning for another year with the Auburn football program, the Tigers have struggled to recruit offensive linemen from high school and the transfer portal in this cycle.
Center Nick Brahms, offensive tackle Austin Troxell, and guards Brandon Council and Alec Jackson will all return for their graduate season with the Tigers, as well as fifth-year seniors Killian Zierer, Jalil Irvin, and Brendan Coffey. Also returning are senior Kameron Stutts and juniors Tate Johnson and Keiondre Jones.
While Auburn football will be returning many veterans and senior leaders on the offensive line in 2022, there will only be five underclassmen on the roster for spring practices in Jeremiah Wright, Colby Smith, Avery Jernigan, Garner Langlo, and early signee Eston Harris Jr. out of Auburn High School.
In the hopes of adding another offensive lineman to the roster for 2022, the Tigers will be hosting 3-star offensive lineman and current Florida commit Jalen Farmer for an official visit this weekend. The Covington, GA native received an offer from Auburn right after the Iron Bowl on November 27:
Auburn Undercover’s Keith Niebuhr reports that Farmer’s commitment to the Gators was firm right up until the coaching change that saw Dan Mullen replaced by former Louisiana coach Billy Napier. Farmer took an unofficial visit to the Plains for the Iron Bowl, and also officially visited Kentucky.
After taking an official visit to Florida last weekend, Farmer will spend this weekend with Auburn football and then head west for a visit with Mississippi State. The Tigers’ offensive line coach Will Friend has made several visits to Farmer’s school, and will likely continue to do so in order to maintain the OL as a high priority.
