As winter workouts begin and the spring schedule begins to take shape for Auburn football, the staff has returned to honoring two members of the team each week as Iron Men of the Week. The selected players, one from the defense and one from the offense, are recognized for their hard work during the offseason.

Last year, the coaching staff made it clear that players would have to earn the title of Iron Man, and players who work hard have the possibility of earning recognition more than once. Bo Nix and Chandler Wooten were both named Iron Men of the Week multiple times in 2021.

Auburn football kicks off the 2022 Iron Men of the Week tradition by honoring wide receiver Shedrick Jackson and safety Donovan Kaufman:

Shedrick Jackson was one of the most productive receivers for Auburn football in 2021 with 40 catches for 527 yards and one touchdown. He had the second-most catches and yards out of all the receivers last season. As reported by Auburn Strength, Jackson recorded the fastest time on the team and won Top Tiger of the week.

Donovan Kaufman transferred to Auburn football from Vanderbilt in 2021 after his former head coach Derek Mason left Vandy for the Plains. Kaufman racked up 33 tackles and 2 tackles for loss in 2021 in addition to one sack, one interception, and two pass break-ups. He also played a role on special teams, returning three kicks for 21 yards.

Despite a 2021 season that did not go as planned, Auburn football is still prioritizing work, hard work, to get to where they want to be.
