If there was ever a time for Alabama fans to shut up about Auburn basketball, that time is now. While the Tigers are #1 in the Southeastern Conference, still hanging on to their #1 AP Poll ranking, and marching their way through the schedule with only two losses, Bama fans still think they can call Auburn “little brother.”

Though the longstanding win streak was ended last night in a tough road game versus Arkansas that finished in overtime, the Tigers are still on top of the conference and are still slated to make a deep run in the NCAA tournament next month.

On the other side of the state, Alabama men’s basketball is sitting in the bottom half of the SEC rankings and have taken nine losses, six of which came in conference play. Oh, and they also lost to Bruce Pearl’s squad TWICE.

Yet somehow, they think Auburn basketball is down bad, and that it was a real burn to post on Twitter in celebration of the Tigers’ second (SECOND!) loss this season. Naturally, the Auburn social media mob was not about to let that slide:

Nice try. It’s a tough day for Alabama fans when they can’t post anything positive about their basketball team so they have to resort to celebrating an Auburn basketball loss. It might have stung a little more if we didn’t beat the Tide in their own house and then proceed to drop 100 on them when they came to visit ours.
