It’s been over a week, and still, no one knows if Bryan Harsin will be Auburn football’s head coach for the 2022 season. After all kinds of rumors and rumblings, there has still been no official word on Harsin’s future at Auburn.

Despite all the talk that he would be fired as soon as he returned from his vacation in Mexico, Harsin remains at the helm of Auburn football and showed up to SEC Headquarters today for the annual coaches’ meeting. Sources on Twitter reported that an hour before the meeting was scheduled to take place, camera crews were already lined up outside of the building.

Alabama head coach Nick Saban, Texas A&M head coach Jimbo Fisher, and LSU head coach Brian Kelly were all photographed entering the front doors of the building, while Ole Miss head coach Lane Kiffin and Bryan Harsin both took the unmarked side entrance.

Now that there has been a confirmed sighting of Harsin stateside and his attendance at the coaches’ meeting has been officially documented, does that mean that Harsin will be retained as Auburn football’s head coach? Why would the university send him to the SEC coaches’ meeting if they were planning to fire him? Or does this only mean that he is simply carrying on with his duties until told otherwise?

The only clear thing that seems to have emerged from this mess is that Bryan Harsin is not giving up without a fight. Harsin intends to continue conducting business as the head coach and will not be intimidated into giving in to the Powers That Be.
