Auburn football: Peers of Jeremiah Wilson excited for new Tigers DB Analyst
Auburn football fans are a very skeptical bunch at this very moment in time.
It’s hard not to be since the start of the 2020 season. The on-field play has had its moments but has been sporadic overall. Behind the scenes? A full-on dumpster fire for two consecutive offseason to the point that the program’s private matters have become offseason content for college football fans everywhere.
But what college football fans the country over think about the program doesn’t matter in the grand scheme. Even Tiger fans’ salty opinions need to be taken with a grain of salt.
When it comes to the newest Auburn football coaching staff hire, DB Analyst Jeremiah Wilson, his peers’ opinions of him speak volumes to the quality of candidate Bryan Harsin and co. just hired:
Some pointed at Wilson’s last stop, Akron, and used the experience as the Zips DB coach as a reason why they don’t approve of the hire.
Akron struggled defensively in 2021 as ninth worst defense of the 130 teams at the FBS level, but the entire unit struggled, not just the secondary.
If anything, though, the opinion of Jeremiah Wilson’s peers should speak to his ability to coach, and the Auburn family should take their words for what they’re getting.
