Auburn football: Two 4-star DL plan spring visits to the Plains
This spring is shaping up to be a recruiting grind for the Auburn football program as they try to lure multiple targets from the class of 2023 to the Plains for visits. Two powerhouse defensive linemen are currently in the process of cementing their spring visits.
The first is 4-star TJ Searcy, who is ranked as the #94 player in the country according to On3 Sports’ recruiting rankings. He’s listed as the #29 defensive lineman in the class of 2023 and the #22 player out of the state of Georgia, per his recruiting profile on 247 Sports.
Auburn football defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh and edge/outside linebackers coach Roc Bellantoni have been working hard on Searcy, and the DL says communication is ramping up, per Auburn Live:
"“I’d say they text me at least two or three times a week. So, they talk to me more than some of the schools that have offered me.”"
Searcy was previously on campus for a game at Jordan-Hare last season, but he plans to get a better feel for the program when he returns on March 19.
Also planning a trip to the Plains is defensive lineman Jamaal Jarrett. The 4-star received an offer from Auburn football two weeks ago, and his interest in the program stems heavily from his friendship with class of 2022 DL signee Enyce Sledge.
Jarrett was named MVP of the defensive line group at last weekend’s Under Armour Next camp in Alpharetta, GA, and since earning his offer from the Tigers Jarrett has been hearing from Coach Brumbaugh weekly, per Auburn Live. Although his visit to the Plains is not yet set in stone, the Greensboro, NC, native is planning to be on campus in the month of April.
Auburn football enters the mix for Jarrett along with several other top programs, including Georgia, Tennessee, and Clemson.
