With all the coaching changeups happening on the Plains, things were looking a little rocky for the Auburn football program in the early months of 2022. The Tigers were without an offensive coordinator for a long while, and promotions from within left several gaps in the position coaching lineup.

Now, with things finally settled and new hires brought on, Auburn football is focusing whole-heartedly on moving into spring practice and recruiting hard for the class of 2023. One of the big targets for next year’s class is 4-star linebacker Jaiden Ausberry.

If that name sounds familiar, it is because the Baton Rouge native is the younger brother of Auburn class of 2022 defensive back signee Austin Ausberry.

Listed as the #47 prospect in the class of 2023, the #5 2023 linebacker, and the #3 recruit out of the state of Louisiana, Ausberry has several connections to Auburn football that could help secure a commitment from the prospect.

The first is the obvious link where his brother is concerned. The older Ausberry visited the Plains multiple times last year before ultimately signing with the Tigers and the younger Ausberry said he could see himself playing alongside his brother, per Auburn Live:

"“I could really see myself fitting in their defense and playing alongside my brother,” Jaiden Ausberry said. “Auburn is really in the discussion for me right now.”"

But his brother isn’t the only draw to the Plains for Jaiden Ausberry. He’s also building a strong relationship with his would-be position coach Christian Robinson. The LB coach became a part of the coaching staff in late January after leaving the Florida Gators, and Robinson has been recruiting Ausberry hard according to the same article:

"“I talk to Coach Robinson almost every day,” Jaiden Ausberry said. “He’s cool. He’s a real good guy. I have had a relationship with him since he was at Florida. He recruited me hard there and now he’s recruiting me hard to Auburn.”"

Though he has strong ties to the Tigers, Ausberry’s recruitment is far from over and Robinson will have to work hard to secure his commitment to Auburn football.
