Auburn football fans got to give Alabama fans a receipt this past weekend.

After Tiger fans had to endure Crimson Tide fans coming at them for low attendance numbers during Auburn’s A-Day spring game, the shoe was on the other foot after Bryant-Denny Stadium was barren for the ‘Bama spring game.

Following a strange winter where Tide fans played gatekeeper for both men’s basketball and women’s gymnastics, often citing that orange and blue faithful weren’t gymnastics fans when the program wasn’t dominating and bringing life to the ‘futtbaw’ memes in the process, Alabama pigskin fans were out in far less than full force this past Saturday.

Auburn football needs on-field success to use as online trash talk fodder

Quite honestly, poking fun at the spring game attendance of the 2020 National Champions that just went to the 2021 National Championship game and won the SEC title–and who, by the way, have more wins last season than AU had the past two seaons–should be far from fulfilling for any Auburn fan. The real trash talk needs to be saved for when Bryan Harsin and co. stand up to Nick Saban again (this time in Tuscaloosa) in November.

At that point, it’d be a real bad look for the program if there were no legitimate talking points to bring up beyond a lackluster A-Day 2022 attendance.
