As the summer months are quickly approaching, Auburn football’s recruiting has ramped up and more and more high school athletes are releasing lists of top schools and trimming them down ahead of their official commitments.

Just yesterday, 4-star safety Braxton Myers trimmed his list from 12 schools down to seven, and the Tigers are still in the mix for the Texas native. Myers is ranked as the #126 overall prospect and the #8 safety in the recruiting class of 2023 and is the #23 recruit out of the Lone Star State.

In addition to Auburn football, Myers is considering Arkansas, Cal, Ole Miss, LSU, Clemson and USC, but it’s looking like the final two schools on that list are going to be the ones to beat for the defensive back.

Right now, it looks like the leader in the recruitment of Myers is USC. He was on campus for the Trojans’ spring game over the past weekend, and that was his second time on campus. He has an official visit set for June 16 and, according to 247 Sports, has a very solid relationship with the USC coaching staff, primarily DB coach Donte Williams and DC Alex Grinch.

The other school to beat for Myers is Clemson, a program that is one of his top contenders due to making him a high priority recruit, per The Clemson Insider. Myers has an official visit to campus set for the weekend of June 3-5.

The safety visited Auburn football back in March, and was able to get a good idea of how the program is run in addition to sitting in on meetings and practice, according to Auburn Live. The Tigers have remained in the mix for Myers largely because of his relationship with cornerbacks coach Zac Etheridge.

Braxton Myers is set to make his official decision on May 16.
