After a rough recruiting cycle with the class of 2022, the Auburn football coaching staff and head coach Bryan Harsin have been working hard to produce a top-notch class of 2023 and rewrite last year’s narrative.

The Tigers continue to host top prospects from all over the country and are consistently making prospects’ top schools lists in the months following. The most recent recruit to include Auburn football in his narrowed list is 4-star linebacker Dee Crayton.

Crayton is listed as the #256 overall prospect and the #21 linebacker in the recruiting class of 2023 and is also the #25 recruit out of the state of Georgia. This weekend, he cut down his recruitment to just five schools, including Auburn, Penn State, Clemson, Missouri, and UCF.

Up next for the 4-star linebacker is taking official visits, and he’s got them all scheduled out over the coming summer. Clemson will get the first OV on June 3, followed by Auburn on June 10. Then, the LB will head to Missouri on June 17, Penn State on June 24, and UCF at the end of July.

Crayton explained that relationships with coaches have been a huge factor in his recruitment, and that he appreciates the development he could receive should he choose Auburn football, per 247 Sports:

"“The coaches and fans have been showing love everyday since they have offered me. They produce many defensive players every year including the linebacker position. They also are known to develop a great amount of players where I’m from in the Metro Atlanta area which is great. The distance is very convenient and they play in the SEC which is the closest thing to the league which is my ultimate goal.”"

Crayton is not expected to make a final decision until after seeing the facilities and what each program has to offer in person.
