Auburn football is starting to add more and more players to the 2022 roster from the NCAA transfer portal as summer workouts loom ahead. While the coaching staff is working hard to secure a strong recruiting class of 2023, they must also fill the gaps in the roster for the upcoming season.

The latest transfer to commit to Auburn football is former Memphis defensive lineman Morris Joseph. He originally committed to Georgia Tech after making the decision to leave Memphis, but after spending last weekend on the Plains with his family Morris ultimately decided to play for head coach Bryan Harsin and the Tigers.

According to Auburn Undercover, spending time on Auburn’s campus and seeing the program up close was enough to solidify Joseph’s decision:

"“Just visiting there I knew it was the place for me,” said Joseph, who is originally from Orange, Texas.  “The relationships with the coaches are a big part of it. It really felt like a family. It felt like home.“It was the first time since I went somewhere I really had that feeling since originally making my decision to go to Memphis when Coach (Mike) Norvell was there,” Joseph pointed out. “It was just a good opportunity and I felt like had to take advantage for it. I will be in Auburn when the team returns coming back off break. I believe that is the end of next week or shortly after that.”"

Joseph is expected to have an immediate impact for the Tigers on the defensive line, and the defensive tackle spoke very highly of his new position coach, Jimmy Brumbaugh:

"“He is very knowledgeable when it comes to the defensive line position and he showed me a lot of ways I can help improve my game so I think that is a big plus. It was great getting to talk ball with him.”"

Joseph officially signed with Auburn football earlier today.
