Auburn football continues to go big when it comes to recruiting the class of 2023, aiming to get the best recruits on campus to play for the Tigers. While many top prospects are narrowing down their potential schools lists, planning visits, and nearing their decisions, others are still receiving offers.

Last week, two 4-star defensive linemen received scholarship offers from Auburn football in Jaren Woods and Daevin Hobbs.

Jaren Woods is a 4-star defensive lineman from La Grange, Texas. While his ranking from 247 Sports is listed as “not available,” On3 Sports lists Woods as the #233 overall prospect and the #29 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 as well as the #39 recruit out of the Lone Star State.

Woods’ offer list is made up mostly of schools from the west side of the country, including Texas, Houston, Cal, Texas Tech, Baylor, and TCU. According to Auburn Live, Woods’ offer came from Auburn football defensive line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh following a trip to the DL’s high school.

The Tigers also extended an offer to Concord, North Carolina native Daevin Hobbs. The 4-star is listed as the #218 overall prospect and the #31 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 as well as the #5 recruit out of the state of North Carolina.

At the moment, the UNC Tar Heels are the favorite to land Hobbs, with the 247 Sports Crystal Ball predicting the DL to remain in the state. However, Auburn Live reports that in addition to his multiple visits to UNC, Hobbs has taken unofficial visits to Tennessee, Wake Forest, Alabama, and Penn State, as well.

While final decisions from Jaren Woods and Daevin Hobbs may still be far off, now is the time for Auburn football to make a strong impression on the 4-star athletes.
