The Auburn football coaching staff has been working very hard to produce a high-quality recruiting class of 2023, and the work will continue throughout the summer months. After spending time on the road across the state and the country during the springtime, the Tigers will now play host to many recruits heading to the Plains for a closer look at the program.

Visiting this weekend all the way from Hawaii is 4-star linebacker Tausili Akana. The LB is ranked as the #60 overall prospect and the #7 edge in the recruiting class of 2023 and is ranked as the #1 recruit out of the state of Utah where he played his sophomore season in 2020.

The talented young prospect has nearly 50 offers from around the country, including some top programs like Oklahoma, Alabama, Miami, LSU, Penn State, Georgia, and Texas A&M. Akana is being sure to check out all of his options before narrowing down his list, and has a busy schedule over the next few weeks.

He just finished up a visit with the Tennessee Volunteers, and has several more scheduled out for next week, according to Vols 247:

"They’re set to travel to several more schools over the next six days, starting with a trip to Auburn on Friday. He said he also plans to visit Alabama on Saturday, LSU on Sunday, Texas A&M on Monday, Baylor on Tuesday and Texas on Wednesday."

Akana also has official visits planned to LSU and Oklahoma, with an official to Tennessee likely on the horizon. With early playing time on the table, Auburn football is an attractive option to edge rushers looking for a home. The Tigers have the potential to sway Akana during his visit to the Plains, as linebackers coach Roc Bellantoni has made it known to Akana that he is a high priority target for the team.
