Auburn baseball fans got to witness pitching greatness from Mason Barnett against UCLA Sunday night amidst a historical offensive showing during the Auburn Regional Round of the 2022 Road to the College World Series. The game was suspended in the bottom of the sixth inning due to thunderous conditions on the Plains. Auburn leads 9-0 when the game resumes Monday afternoon.
Barnett fanned 10 Bruins batters in five and 1/3 innings, including a first inning in which he struck out the side following a leadoff double from Cody Schrier. He threw 88 pitches and gave up just the Schrier double and three walks.
Tiger fans were in awe of what they saw from the junior right-hander from Cartersville, Georgia Sunday night.
Here were the metaphorical flowers from the brilliant gem of an outing from Barnett:
Has anyone changed the "owner" tab of the UCLA Wikipedia page to "Mason Barnett" because he is owning them rn

Auburn regional final starting pitcher Mason Barnett just pitched one of the most outstanding games of Auburn’s entire season w/ 10 strikeouts while giving up just one hit to UCLA into the 6th inning with Tigers on top 9-0. The Auburn junior put on an absolute clinic tonight

Barnett is in line for the win if Auburn baseball can hold on to their near double-digit lead after he hit the five-inning threshold.
