Auburn baseball was able to finally finish their third 2022 Road to the College World Series Regional Round matchup against UCLA on Monday afternoon when they played the sixth, seventh, eighth, and ninth innings of a game that was suspended Sunday night due to thunderous conditions.
The Tigers vanquished the Bruins 11-4 after coming into the day with a 9-0 lead in a contest where the Plainsman Park gates were open to anyone willing to attend.
Auburn baseball fans hoping to see another game on the Plains in the 2022 season were not happy to see Oregon State punch their own ticket to the Super Regionals by defeating last season’s CWS runner-up, Vanderbilt. Had the Commodores been victorious, the SEC matchup would have been housed down South Donahue Drive.
Here were some of the unhappy members of the Auburn family letting out on social media Monday night:
Welp no Super Regional host 😫

Damn you Vandy, damn you.

You had one job for the conference…

Welp. Vandy has fallen to Oregon State and Auburn will now travel to Corvallis, Oregon for its Super Regional matchup. Had Vandy won, Auburn would’ve hosted. A touch bittersweet but we move.

Oregon State is 47-16 in 2022 with a 21-8 home record. With that said, the Beavers do own home losses this year to UC Irvine and Grand Canyon University, so they are susceptible to slipping up in Goss Stadium at Coleman Field.
