After a 2022 recruiting cycle that left many fans hoping for more, the Auburn football coaching staff is going all in on the class of 2023. Top-notch recruits from all over the country have selected the Tigers as finalists in their top schools list and are in the process of setting up visits to the Plains.

Over the past weekend, Auburn football hosted 4-star defensive tackle Jamaal Jarrett for an official visit. He is ranked as the #182 overall prospect and the #26 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 as well as the #3 recruit out of the state of North Carolina.

Jarrett was hosted on the Plains by his close friend, defensive lineman Enyce Sledge, who signed with the Tigers in December of last year. In addition to spending time with Sledge, who Jarrett refers to as his brother, the DL also got the chance to better get to know his would-be position coach Jeff Brumbaugh on the visit, per Auburn Live:

"“I got to learn a lot about Coach Brumbaugh,” Jarrett said. “He’s really cool and a great coach. Me and him had a lot of 1-on-1 time. He was teaching me stuff like how to watch film. I feel very comfortable around him. He’s straightforward and to the point about everything. Oh, and my family fell in love with his wife.”"

Jarrett already has plans for another visit to Auburn June 24-26, but first he will head to Georgia on June 10-12, followed by a trip to Texas A&M on June 17-19. However, Tiger fans should feel extremely confident about where Auburn football stands with Jamaal Jarrett:

"“Auburn made a really big impression on me and not just because it was my first time there,” he said. “Auburn really stood out. They are now even higher in my recruitment.”"

The defensive lineman could be the next big addition to the Tigers’ recruiting class of 2023.
