Auburn Game Tonight: Auburn vs Oregon State Odds, Prediction for College Baseball June 12th
Auburn baseball shocked many, including this very site, when they ended up triumphing in the 2022 Road to the College World Series Super Regionals opener against Oregon State 7-5 on Saturday evening in Corvallis.
Trace Bright didn’t escape the first inning, but the Beavers’ probable starter, Golden Spikes Award finalist Cooper Hjerpe, didn’t make it to the mound at all, dealing with an undisclosed illness. Auburn’s bullpen was up to the test in the interim, while fill-in starter Jake Pfennigs was lit up for five runs in 2.2 innings and credited with the loss.
Carson Skipper was the MVP of the Auburn baseball relievers, delivering five strikeouts in three innings pitched. He ceded no hits and just one walk while Tommy Sheehan’s two-hit, no-run three-inning stretch got credited with the win.
Butch Thompson’s squad is now on the precipice of a College World Series appearance with the win, knocking on the doorstep of their sixth appearance in program history. Do the Tigers have one more win in Corvallis in them, and will it come Sunday night? Game 3 awaits on Monday if not.
Fly War Eagle has your odds and a prediction for the June 12th Super Regionals matchup:
Auburn baseball vs Oregon State Line
Auburn is a +160 underdog while Oregon State’s moneyline is -200. The over/under run total is set at 11.5.
Auburn vs Oregon State prediction
We were expecting the Auburn bats to finally slow down Saturday night after a full-on feast at the plate for the Tigers during their Regional Round sweep of Southeastern Louisiana, Florida State, and UCLA in short order last weekend.
Hjerpe’s MIA status changed the tone, as the Tigers had little trouble dispatching of the undefeated Pfennigs in Game 1.
At plus money, the Tigers could be a good value play with their offense humming along at their current output.
