Auburn football: Dreshun Miller transfers to NC State as walk on
Former Auburn football cornerback Dreshun Miller has moved on to another program for the 2022 season. After entering the transfer portal in 2020 as a graduate transfer, Miller moved from West Virginia to the Plains to play for the Tigers.
A native of Marietta, Georgia, Miller transferred to the Plains to be closer to home and play in the SEC. Now, he will use his last year of eligibility to walk on at NC State.
The cornerback had a successful career at West Virginia, but couldn’t quite crack the rotation for the Tigers during Bryan Harsin’s first season on the Plains. However, he has plenty of experience on the playing field and will bring a lot to the table for NC State.
Miller’s experience expands across four schools throughout his career, including Eastern Arizona Community College, West Virginia, Auburn, and now NC State, per ACCSports.com:
"Miller has bounced around during his college career. As a prep, the 6-foot-2 Miller was a 3-star prospect out of Marietta, Georgia. Initially an LSU commit, Miller played at the JUCO level (Eastern Arizona Community College); he then transferred to West Virginia in 2018, where he played for Tony Gibson, NC State’s defensive coordinator and linebackers coach.During the 2020 season, Miller played the best call of his college career with the Mountaineers: 31 total tackles (No. 10 on the roster) and an interception."
The cornerback will join a crowded position room at his new school, but his experience may allow for him to earn some playing time in his final year of eligibility.
Meanwhile, with Roger McCreary headed to the NFL, Auburn football’s remaining cornerbacks will have to step up in the coming season. Nehemiah Pritchett and Jaylin Simpson are expected to be key contributors.
