Auburn football: 4-star OT emphasizes relationships with coaching staff
One of the main goals for the Auburn football coaching staff in this recruiting cycle is to add more talent and depth to the Tigers’ offensive line corps. Though many experienced players are returning to the Plains for the 2022 season, next year there will be a big need for linemen.
Earlier this week, 4-star offensive tackle Stanton Ramil took an unofficial visit to the Plains. Ramil is listed as the #193 overall prospect and the #20 OT in the recruiting class of 2023 as well as the #15 recruit out of the state of Alabama.
As with many of the top prospects around the state of Alabama, Ramil has become a top priority for the Tigers’ in the 2023 recruiting cycle. Though he is still considering all of his options with over 30 offers, the offensive tackle values the relationships he’s formed with Auburn football’s coaching staff, and got the chance to spend even more time with the coaches during his mid-week visit to campus, per Auburn Live:
"“It went really good,” Ramil said. “I got a lot of time with Coach (Bryan) Harsin and we didn’t even talk football that much. I’m building a really good relationship with him and that’s huge. Having that relationship with him, with Coach (Will) Friend, with Coach (Joe) Bernardi … it’s all huge.“Coach Harsin is a great guy,” Ramil said. “Honestly, I’ve talked to him multiple times. He stands out from a lot of the head coaches. He just feels like an honest and true guy. I also have a real good relationship with Coach Friend. He’s a great coach and a great guy, too.”"
The visit went so well, in fact, that Ramil has already made plans for a return trip to Auburn next week for another unofficial visit, and he will stay overnight. Ramil already has multiple official visits scheduled, and said he was prioritizing officials for schools that are a long distance away and require more travel.
He will officially visit Tennessee on June 17 before heading to Michigan State on June 24, and he has already taken official visits to both Pitt and and North Carolina. His top schools included Tennessee, Michigan State, Pitt, Clemson, Penn State, North Carolina, Mississippi State, and Auburn.
