With only one offensive lineman signed to the recruiting class of 2023 so far, the Auburn football coaching staff is still working hard to add talent and depth to the line of scrimmage. The Tigers will host a number of offensive linemen at the end of the month for the Big Cat Weekend recruiting event, including 3-star Vysen Lang.

From Pike Road, Lang’s home is just a half hour trip down I-85 from Auburn’s campus. The 3-star is ranked as the #538 overall prospect and the #44 offensive tackle in the recruiting class of 2023, and is ranked as the #26 player out of the state of Alabama.

Lang named a top six schools, narrowing his choices down to Georgia, Tennessee, Arkansas, LSU, Texas, and Auburn football, but the biggest competition is likely to come from the Vols, the Razorbacks, and the Longhorns. He has set fall official visits to each of the three.

Lang told Auburn Live that Texas is on a “come up” in his recruitment, and they’re pushing hard for him. He pointed to his relationship with the Longhorns’ OL coach and Arch Manning’s impact on the roster as factors that stood out about Texas.

When it comes to Arkansas, Lang feels that he would have an easy time adjusting to the playing scheme, and he values his relationships with both his would-be position coach and head coach Sam Pittman.

Tennessee remains in the mix for Lang because of the efforts of their coaching staff, according to Lang, and he sees himself fitting in well with the playing style at Rocky Top.

Although there is still plenty of competition, the Auburn football coaching staff is staying in frequent communication with Lang, and he appreciates the Plains’ proximity to his home and the opportunity it provides for his friends and family to see him play.

Though he does not yet have a fall official visit set to Auburn yet, Lang will attend Big Cat Weekend at the end of the month.
