After adding four prospects to Auburn football’s recruiting class of 2023 this summer, the Tigers are looking to add a couple more in the month of August. Two of Auburn’s top prospects have announced official commitment dates that will take place later this month.

The first is one of Auburn football’s top in-state targets, defensive back Jacorious Hart from Loachapoka, AL. Hart is ranked by 247 Sports as the #884 overall prospect and the #85 cornerback in the recruiting class of 2023 and is the #33 recruit out of the state of Alabama.

Hart earned his offer from the Tigers after camping on the Plains over the summer and turned heads with his speed on the 40-yard dash. The cornerback was also on campus for Big Cat Weekend, and it looks like the Tigers will be the team to beat.

His final four schools are Mississippi State, Auburn, UCF, and Vanderbilt, but it will likely come down between Gus Malzahn’s Knights and Bryan Harsin’s Tigers. Hart is set to make his official decision on August 12 at his school.

The other Auburn football target set to commit later this month is 3-star defensive lineman Joshua Horton. Ranked as the #835 overall prospect and the #96 defensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2023 and the #84 recruit out of the state of Georgia, Horton is currently teammates at Langston Hughes with Auburn football commit Terrance Love.

Horton has been to campus several times throughout his recruitment but had a great visit in the month of June. According to Auburn Live, he has built a strong relationship with d-line coach Jimmy Brumbaugh and can see himself fitting in well in the Tigers’ defensive scheme.

The lineman’s final three schools are Auburn, UCF, and North Carolina, and he has taken official visits to all three programs. He will make his commitment announcement on August 19, and could likely become an Auburn Tiger.
