The Auburn football team came out of the weekend 1-0 in conference play, but it was a terribly ugly win over the Missouri Tigers that got them there. There was hope in Jordan-Hare as the Auburn Tigers got out to a quick 14-0 start, but before long, it all came crumbling down.

With a 3-1 record under his belt so far in his second season on the Plains and a “big” win in the conference, has Bryan Harsin saved his job for the rest of the season? Not likely.

Although a win is a win, it would perhaps be more appropriate to say that Mizzou lost the game than to say that Auburn won. It took a missed field goal and a fumble in the end zone for the Tigers to come out on top, and aside from going in the win category there aren’t a lot of positive things to say about this game.

So, are head coach Bryan Harsin’s days on the Plains still numbered? Yes, without the Auburn football team showing improvement week to week, it’s simply a matter of time before Harsin gets the axe, and it will likely be following the team’s next loss.

There is limited support for Harsin, as we all know after the offseason inquiry, and he is losing what support he had left from the fans very quickly. Bruce Feldman sums it up perfectly, via Auburn Undercover:

"“The Auburn money people, they never wanted Harsin to get hired. And the AD who hired him, he was forced out last month,” Fox Sports’ Bruce Feldman said Saturday on Big Noon Kickoff. “Making matters worse, they’re ranked No. 55 in recruiting and that is last in the SEC. You have a coach here who really has got nobody supporting him. So right now, he’s never had much of a chance to get any traction there.”"

With the dreadful recruiting, the lack of improvement from the team, and the clear desire by the higher-ups to get Harsin out of Auburn, it’s clear that even though he coached the team to a conference win, his days on the Plains are still numbered.
