Auburn football is gearing up for the biggest night game of the season so far as the LSU Tigers and Brian Kelly make their way to the Plains. With the heightened atmosphere of a big conference night game comes a long list of visiting recruits, and tonight will be no different.

It’s quite a star-studded list with the return of Qua Russaw and James Smith in addition to the official visit of Tony Mitchell, but one interesting name to track this weekend is Gabriel Harris. He is ranked as the #233 overall prospect and the #27 edge in the recruiting class of 2023 and is the #50 recruit out of the state of Florida.

The 4-star edge attends IMG Academy in Florida, and the school visited the Plains last weekend to watch the first half of the Auburn-Missouri game after playing in Phenix City the night before.

Tonight, Harris will be on the Plains for a second weekend in a row, utilizing his off-week from his own football schedule to return to Auburn. The edge has been committed to Georgia since April of this year, but he has been very open to recruitment from Auburn football.

While edges coach Roc Bellantoni has done a good job of keeping in contact with Harris, Auburn Undercover reports that general manager and director of scouting Drew Fabianich–who took a job on the Plains earlier this summer after spending over 18 years with the Dallas Cowboys–has been impressive to the edge.

Harris noted that he remains in consistent communication with Fabianich, and that his NFL experience is a big factor in keeping the edge’s attention on Auburn football. Although going up against the defending national champs in recruiting is not an easy task, but two weekends in a row on the Plains certainly says something, and the recruitment of Gabriel Harris may start to heat up soon.
