Bo Nix doesn’t hold ill will towards Auburn football for his three years on the Plains, even if they didn’t match the expectations many had for the second-generation signal-caller in a Tigers uniform.

Nix addressed a reporter’s question on the matter during a post-game media scrum following Oregon’s 45-30 victory over No. 9-ranked UCLA on October 22 — a win that moved Nix’s Ducks to 6-1 on the year and propelled them to the No. 8 spot in the AP Top 25.

Nix believes that the circumstances changing due to his move from the southeast to the Pacific Northwest are the primary culprit for why he is enjoying a career year, already surpassing his previous passing touchdown high mark in a Tigers uniform (16) just seven games into the season.

Here was Nix’s response to the said reporter in which he absolved Auburn football and all of the controversy surrounding both his tenure and his exit during the media scrum this past Saturday in Eugene (h/t On3):

"“Well, I think obviously there’s a whole lot of dynamics that go into it. Different schedules you’re playing, different teams you’re playing, different personnel, different staffs, different offensive schemes, so it’s hard to say that the other coaches didn’t get it out of me because at times I was doing the same thing at Auburn.”"

Bo Nix believes Oregon is more consistent across the entire offense than Auburn football was

One notable thing Bo Nix did say during the October 22 press scrum was that the Oregon offense was consistent across all 11 players. Given his previous struggles behind an Auburn offensive line that constantly had him ditching the pocket with the pass-rush oncoming, it’s clear Nix appreciates having the time to sit back and assess the field in a way he didn’t previously:

"“It was just the consistent part. We’re doing that now and it speaks to all 11 of us. All 11 of us who are out there are being consistent. Every once in a while we’ll have a hiccup drive and we’ll have to go three-and-out and punt, but we know it’s not going to happen a second time. Consistency is the main thing we’re doing offensively right now.”"

With Troy Franklin emerging as one of his top targets throughout his four-year collegiate career, Nix is enjoying a major offensive line upgrade, has a top target to power the passing game, and is facing far weaker defenses than he did in the SEC.

Life is good for Bo Nix, a legitimate Heisman hopeful, at this moment in time.
