The Auburn football team has endured quite the roller coaster ride during head coach Bryan Harsin’s tenure on the Plains, but today, over halfway through the 2022 season, the Harsin era comes to an end.

The university hired former Mississippi State athletic director John Cohen this morning, and shortly after it was announced that the Auburn football program would be seeking new leadership, though the official announcement included no mention of Bryan Harsin’s name.

Fans began speculating about potential coaching candidates pretty early on in the season, but now that the coaching search is about to begin in earnest, the tweets are getting sent out left and right as Tiger fans react to what many believe is the long overdue firing of the head coach.

Fans were ready for a change, and finally, they got it. Now, it finally seems like the Auburn football can change directions and begin a rebuild that it badly needs, but who will be the next person to take on the role as the Tigers’ head coach? Fan favorites include Deion Sanders and Lane Kiffin, but other names to watch are Hugh Freeze, Matt Rhule, and Jeff Grimes.

While things certainly won’t change overnight, it’s clear that change can begin to happen with the decision to part ways with Bryan Harsin.
