Auburn basketball will play its first game away from home during the 2022-23 season as they open the 2022 Cancun Challenge with a matchup against Bradley from the Missouri Valley Conference at the Hard Rock Hotel Riviera Maya.
There will likely be a large contingent of traveling AU fans at the game, with price-gouging coming from outside of the Auburn family in Cancun — that is, of course, if you consider someone who’d rather take a loss due to insane secondary market pricing than get a Tiger fan in his or her Neville Arena seat a member of the family at all. Bradley isn’t expected to have nearly the same support.
Ticket pricing complaints aside, this writer expects a rocking Riviera Maya with Auburn basketball fans ready to see their Tigers run the 2022-23 record up to 5-0 with another non-conference clash with a mid-major on the docket.
Coming off a non-spread covering win against Texas Southern, AU is 2-2 at the spread this season. While they’ve yet to cover a spread of 20 or more this season, they won’t have to against Bradley in Cancun.
Can the Tigers crush the Bradley Braves as sportsbooks expect them to, or will Bradley hand Auburn basketball its first loss of the season? Fly War Eagle has your odds and a prediction for the CBS Sports Network-televised matchup (All lines courtesy of WynnBET Sportsbook):
Bradley vs. Auburn basketball Odds, Spread and Total
Spread:
Auburn: -12.5 (-110)
Bradley : +12.5 (-110)
Total: 139 (Over -110/Under -110)
Bradley vs. Auburn prediction
Bradley is a mid-major that relies heavily on upperclassmen production, so they could keep things close for a bit against an Auburn basketball squad that’s still ironing out the kinks in the early going this season.
Bruce Pearl does tend to get the most out of his guys on these trips abroad, though, so Fly War Eagle expects AU to get back to its spread-covering ways in Mexico.
Prediction: Auburn -12.5 (-110)
