In the current day and age of college football, the transfer portal is constantly full of talented players, including several Auburn football players. With a new head coach in Hugh Freeze and yet another turnover of staff, it’s expected that some Tigers would explore other options.

Though some players declared their intentions to enter the transfer portal early, the portal officially opened for business on Monday. Prior to that date, Auburn football wide receivers Landen King and Tar’Varish Dawson entered and withdrew their names from the portal. There has been speculation that quarterback TJ Finley will enter the portal, but no word on him yet.

So far, at least eight Auburn football players have entered their names into the portal. Perhaps the most notable name so far is that of quarterback Zach Calzada, who announced his intention to transfer earlier this week after obtaining a medical redshirt and seeing no game action in orange and blue.

Receivers Dazalin Worsham and Ze’Vian Capers both entered the portal, although Capers could return to the Plains. Former JUCO linebacker Joko Willis will transfer after seeing no meaningful playing time at Auburn.

Two more transfers include backup running back Jordon Ingram and defensive tackle Marquis Robinson, who previously entered the portal in January but withdrew and remained with the Tigers for the 2022 season.

Finally, the last transfer is one of note simply because he is an offensive lineman and the Tigers need as many linemen as they can get ahead of the 2023 season. Offensive guard Keiondre Jones entered the portal, but could be another guy that potential returns to the Plains.

Players have 45 days from December 5 to transfer before the window closes and then opens again for 15 days at the beginning of May.
