For players that intend to sign with a program during the early signing period, recruitment is coming to a close, and Auburn football plans to finish out the month strong.

Head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff have stayed busy on the recruiting trail since his hiring, and has already managed to secure several commitments. However, the Tigers are still lacking in commitments, with only 13 commits ahead of the early signing period, and a #42 overall rank and a last place rank in the SEC.

One of the priority positions for adding players and talent during this offseason is most definitely the offensive line. The Tigers returned nearly the whole offensive line between 2021 and 2022, and now most of those guys will be moving on.

There are currently four offensive linemen signed in Auburn football’s class of 2023, three of whom committed after Freeze took over from Bryan Harsin. However, Freeze isn’t finished yet. The Tigers are pushing hard for JUCO offensive lineman Isaiah Jatta, who is ranked as the #11 overall JUCO prospect and the #3 JUCO offensive tackle in this recruiting cycle.

The OL committed to South Carolina back in June, but the Tigers never lost interest. He walked back his pledge to the Gamecocks earlier this week after his official visit to the Plains, and many believed an Auburn commitment was imminent. Enter Deion Sanders.

Jatta recently received an offer from Colorado, and plans to unofficially visit with the Buffaloes this weekend. Of course, the allure of playing for Deion Sanders is real, but this late in the game it seems like the Tigers have the better chance at landing the offensive lineman.

Auburn football offers Jatta early playing time, and also the opportunity to play with former Snow College teammate Keionte Scott, who made his way to the Plains last year. It’s likely that Jatta ultimately chooses Auburn, and sooner than later.
