After a month of bait-and-switching back in November regarding becoming the next Auburn football head coach, Lane Kiffin — who ended up re-signing with Ole Miss for $9 million per season over the next seven years to remain the Rebels head coach — received the wrath of Tiger fans scorned.

During an eventual 42-25 Texas Bowl blowout loss at the hands of Texas Tech, Auburn football fans gave Kiffin an earful after he not only played the Plains for fools but later took shots at AU in the aftermath.

Here were some of the vengeful Tiger fans who loved what they were seeing during Ole Miss’ fifth loss in their final six games of the 2022 season:

Auburn football better off with Hugh Freeze

It certainly does seem as though Hugh Freeze is counting his blessings that he is receiving a second chance to be a head coach in the SEC. His Ole Miss tenure nearly had him blackballed from the conference due to off-field scandals ranging from recruiting infractions to illegal promiscuous activities on university property.

Since becoming Auburn football head coach, Freeze has made sure not to take this chance for granted, becoming one of the major winners of Early National Signing Day and bringing ‘Flipmas’ to the Plains during the holiday season.

Oxford, Mississippi could keep Lane Kiffin. East Central Alabama has their man in Freeze. Consider a major bullet dodged, and a new rivalry between the Tigers and Rebels formed.
