Auburn football: 4 signees to participate in All-American Bowl
Although there was once a lot of worrying about Auburn football’s recruiting class of 2023, newly hired head coach Hugh Freeze and his inaugural staff have been tearing it up on the recruiting trail.
Freeze bumped the Tigers’ recruiting class up to #20 overall and has secured 18 signees and three transfers in his short time as head coach. All of those signees were once committed to other programs, too, and flipped to join the Auburn football program.
Coming up next week is the All-American Bowl, which is a high school level all-star game that takes place in San Antonio, Texas. The two teams are made up of players from all over the country, divided up into East and West to compete.
This year, Auburn football will be represented by four signees in the All-American Bowl:
1. Keldric Faulk
The highest ranked signee in the Tigers’ class of 2023, Faulk was once committed to Florida State before Hugh Freeze and the new staff were able to convince him to flip at the last minute. Falk is a 4-star defensive lineman out of Highland Home, Alabama.
2. Darron Reed
The second most highly ranked player on Auburn football’s 2023 roster, Reed was another big flip, pulled off by Cadillac Williams while he was interim head coach on the Plains. Formerly committed to LSU, Reed is a 4-star defensive lineman out of Columbus, Georgia.
3. Connor Lew
Lew was a longtime target of the Tigers, but could not be convinced to commit under the Bryan Harsin administration. A 4-star inside offensive lineman from Acworth, Georgia, Lew was committed to Miami until shortly after his visit on the Plains with Hugh Freeze, and flipped to Auburn days later.
4. Kayin Lee
A 4-star cornerback out of Ellenwood, Georgia, Lee had been committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes since June when he met with Hugh Freeze and the new staff. After an early December visit, Lee flipped to Auburn on signing day.
