There is no doubt that during his time on the Auburn basketball team, Lior Berman has become a special player. Berman is a walk-on for the Tigers but has played a huge role on both the scout team and the court during games. From his signature corner threes to his aggressive defense, Berman is always ready to make a difference for his team.
Yesterday, ahead of the Auburn basketball team’s final regular season game, the seniors were honored in front of a packed Neville Arena, and Berman earned a standing ovation from the crowd. It wouldn’t be his only big moment on Saturday afternoon.
About halfway into the second half of the game, KD Johnson ended up with the ball at midcourt and flung it to Jaylin Williams, who was driving to the basket. Williams passed over his defender to a wide-open Lior Berman, who brought the house down with a two-handed slam dunk.
In what was likely his last home game as a Tiger, he had a perfect moment. The packed arena went nuts, with every fan leaping to their feet and shouting for Berman. But Auburn basketball fans who were watching from afar went just as crazy on Twitter:
As the Tigers get ready to compete in the SEC Tournament and the NCAA Tournament, Berman will be a key piece in the lineup, but what a way to send off the senior in Neville Arena.
