With spring practice in full swing, the new Auburn football coaching staff is working hard to get to know their roster and establish a foundation for success in the fall. However, recruiting never stops, and spring practice is also an opportunity to work on relationships with prospects and show what life is really like for a football player on the Plains.

Lots of recruits out of the class of 2024 have made the trip to campus during spring practice, including major targets Perry Thompson, Cam Coleman, and more. This past week, the Tigers hosted one of the top receivers in the 2024 class, 4-star Nick Marsh.

Marsh is ranked as the #79 overall prospect and the #13 wide receiver in the class of 2024 and is the #3 player out of the state of Michigan. He has over 30 offers from schools around the country, and it’s not hard to see why.

At 6-foot-3 and 195 lbs, he has the frame and physicality that Hugh Freeze has favored in past offenses. His recent visit to Auburn was his first, and he is loving the relationship that he’s built with the staff so far, especially his would-be position coach Marcus Davis, per Auburn Rivals:

"“Coach Davis, we chop it up here and there,” Marsh said. “So far, Coach Davis is one of the realest coaches by far.”"

Marsh noted that he enjoyed seeing how Davis coached up the receivers, allowing them to improve as they go and consistently throwing out tips to make them into better players, which is the type of coach Marsh said he would want.

According to the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine, Michigan State leads Marsh’s recruitment with Michigan following and Auburn football in third place. However, the Tigers just offered the WR in early March, so there’s a good chance that they can push their way up to the top.
