New Auburn football head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff are keeping the recruiting train rolling, even while conducting the Tigers’ 2023 spring practice. Freeze said earlier this year that the recruiting success in the 2023 class was big-time, but the next two classes will truly determine the success of the program.

Though Freeze is starting off slow with his new team, running practice without depth charts and getting the players aligned on fundamentals and the way he runs a program, it is still a great opportunity for prospects to get on campus and see the coaching staff and facilities.

This week, the Auburn football program will be hosting one of the top recruits in the 2025 class, whose older brother happens to already be an Auburn Tiger. 5-star linebacker Zayden Walker, brother to Auburn defensive lineman Zykeivous Walker, will be on campus Monday.

In the class of 2025, meaning he is almost two years away from signing with a college program, Walker is already a wanted man with 20 offers from top-notch programs around the country. Alabama, Georgia, Ohio State, Notre Dame, and Michigan State are just a few of the schools who have already extended offers to the high school sophomore.

Walker is ranked as the #17 overall prospect and the #1 linebacker in the recruiting class of 2025, and is the #3 recruit out of the state of Georgia. He spent this past weekend visiting Florida and Florida State, which are the programs he’s been to the most according to his On3 Visitor Center. He has also visited Alabama, Georgia, South Carolina, and Auburn.

Florida State is currently thought to lead his recruitment, but the linebacker was offered by Bryan Harsin’s staff so there is a real chance that Hugh Freeze could make Zayden Walker want to play with his brother on the Plains.
