Recruitment is rolling for the Auburn football program under new head coach Hugh Freeze and the rest of his staff.

So far, the Tigers have managed to secure four commits to the class of 2024 in quarterback Walker White, cornerbacks Jayden Lewis and A’Mon Lane, and running back J’Marion “Phat” Burnette. There’s also already one commit in the class of 2025— defensive lineman Malik Autry.

While most of the focus right now is on the Tigers’ highly-anticipated spring practice and the recruiting class of 2024, there are members of the class of 2025 that have already narrowed down their options and are approaching a final decision.

One of those prospects is 4-star cornerback Shamar Arnoux. The Alpharetta, GA, cornerback recently dropped his top eight programs, and noted that his commitment is coming “soon” according to a tweet by On3’s Jeremy Johnson:

Arnoux is ranked as the #190 overall prospect and the #23 cornerback in the recruiting class of 2025 and is the #20 recruit out of the state of Georgia. He is considering Texas A&M, Arkansas, Florida State, Michigan, LSU, Tennessee, and Ole Miss alongside Auburn football. Notably, the Aggies offered him just last week.

He has visited Texas A&M, LSU, Ole Miss, and Auburn once each, and has taken two visits to Tennessee. The Vols currently lead the cornerback’s recruitment according to Arnoux’s On3 recruiting profile, but his most recent visit to any of his top schools was to Auburn for the Tigers’ Junior Day at the end of January, which was when he earned his scholarship offer.

With secondary coaches Zac Etheridge and Wesley McGriff pushing for the 4-star, it’s possible that Shamar Arnoux could be the next commit for the Auburn football program in the class of 2025.
