Summer is right around the corner, and that is the time when most high school seniors take official visits to their top programs. As of now, prospects are allowed five official visits, which means they usually cut down their recruitment list quite a bit ahead of those visits and the summer months. Auburn football just made top eight for a highly-touted offensive lineman in the class of 2024.

4-star IOL Casey Poe announced earlier this week that he is down to his final eight schools, including Auburn football, Georgia, Clemson, Baylor, Oklahoma, LSU, Alabama, and Texas Tech.

Poe is ranked as the #149 overall prospect and the #10 IOL in the recruiting class of 2024 and is the #27 recruit out of the state of Texas. Currently, he has one 247 Sports Crystal Ball prediction to end up at Oklahoma, and the Sooners lead his recruitment on his profile at On3.

He has taken the most visits (four) to Oklahoma, and the second most (three) to Texas Tech in his home state. However, he has only two official visits planned so far and those are to Alabama and Clemson. It’s possible that he could choose to officially visit Auburn while he’s already in the state for his visit with the Tide.

As for the Tigers’ 2024 QB commit Walker White, he definitely wants the big OL to be a future blocker for him, and has started his recruiting campaign for Poe on Twitter:

The Tigers seem to have prioritized Poe, and hopefully that—and Walker White’s recruiting—will pay off in another visit for the big interior offensive lineman to the Plains in the coming months.
