The Auburn football program is gearing up for a busy summer that will include hosting top-ranked recruits from all over the country. Many class of 2024 recruits are narrowing down their recruitments to a smaller list of schools and nailing down their official visit dates.

Earlier this week, the Tigers were named in 4-star offensive lineman Preston Taumua’s list of Top 5 schools, posted on his personal Instagram account. Alongside Auburn football, Taumua included Oregon, Nebraska, Arizona, and Alabama.

Taumua is ranked as the #200 overall prospect and the #8 inside offensive lineman in the recruiting class of 2024 and he is the #1 prospect out of Hawaii.

According to Taumua’s On3 recruiting profile, he has only taken two visits so far, one to Southern California and one to Arizona. He has set four official visits for the month of June, but only three of the stops are to schools in his top five. The OL will visit Arizona first on June 2, Alabama on June 9, Auburn football on June 16, and Tennessee on June 23.

Here’s what 247 Sports National Recruiting Editor Brandon Huffman had to say about Preston Taumua, who has already been selected to play in the 2024 Polynesian Bowl:

"Impressed at this past summer’s ESPN 300 Hawaii Camp, earning Top Performers honors. Now, seeing him in pads, you see every bit the elite prospect that he is. He’s got tremendous agility and flexibility, a natural knee bender with great body control, doing a great job of getting to the second level consistently and opening up holes for his backs. He’s also a plus pass-blocker, keeping his quarterback clean during the game."

Taumua intends to take plenty of official visits before making his final decision, and it’s possible that he will plan trips to Oregon and Nebraska, his other two top 5 schools, before all is said and done.
