Summertime is finally here, and that means that recruits from all over the country are narrowing down their list of potential schools in their recruitment and finalizing dates for official visits to top programs. The Auburn football program is faring well so far, locking in a list of star-studded recruits that plan to officially or unofficially visit the Plains over the next few months.

One top recruit who has taken a liking to the Tigers is 5-star defensive lineman Kamarion Franklin. He is ranked as the #30 overall prospect and the #6 DL in the recruiting class of 2024 and is the #2 recruit out of the state of Mississippi.

He will unofficially visit the Plains the weekend of June 9, and named Auburn football as one of his Top 5 programs in his recruitment just a few days ago:

Franklin’s top schools include Auburn football, Florida, Tennessee, Miami, and Ole Miss. He has scheduled three official visits so far, to Miami on June 2 (this weekend), to Tennessee on June 16, and to LSU on June 23.

The Tigers have begun to recruit more aggressively in the state of Mississippi with the new staff as many of the coaches have ties to the state, like former Ole Miss and current Auburn offensive line coach Jake Thornton and defensive line coach Jeremy Garrett, who is from Mississippi himself. Even head coach Hugh Freeze has ties to the state as a former head coach at Ole Miss.

According to Franklin’s On3 Sports recruiting profile, the Vols are currently the major leader in his recruitment, but the Tigers came in late and fought their way into the DL’s Top 5, so they are still a factor to the Mississippi native. With no current commitment timeline, more visits to the Plains could draw Franklin away from some of the other interested schools and eventually earn his commitment to Auburn football.
