It’s bye week for the Auburn football program, but there is still plenty of football to be played this season. The Tigers will take a weekend off after facing UMass, Cal, Samford, Texas A&M, and Georgia. Opponents left include LSU, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Vanderbilt, Arkansas, New Mexico State, and Alabama in the Iron Bowl.

With fierce competition still to come for head coach Hugh Freeze and Auburn football, it’s a good weekend to take a breather and focus on the other teams in the world of college football. If you’re wondering which matchups to check out, here is a guide.

There are plenty of SEC matchups to tune into while Auburn, Tennessee, and South Carolina all take their bye weeks on October 7. #13 LSU and #23 Missouri is the only SEC contest where both teams are ranked. They kickoff at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, and so do Mississippi State and Western Michigan.

#12 Alabama will take on Texas A&M in College Station at 2:30, and then Vanderbilt and Florida face off at 3:00 from the Swamp. Evening games include #1 Georgia vs. Kentucky at 6:00, and #20 Ole Miss vs. Arkansas at 6:30.

Outside of the SEC, the Red River Showdown—the rivalry game between #14 Oklahoma and #3 Texas—will take place at the Cotton Bowl in Dallas at 11:00 a.m. #2 Michigan will play Minnesota at 6:00 p.m. and #4 Ohio State plays Maryland at 11:00 a.m. #5 Florida State takes on Virginia Tech at 2:30 p.m.

In a couple of Pac-12 after dark games, #19 Oklahoma State will take on the Cal Golden Bears at 9:00 before #8 USC and Arizona square off at 9:30.

Though the Tigers will not be on TV this weekend, there are plenty of other exciting matchups to watch all day long. Hopefully the  Auburn football team will come out on October 14 well-rested and ready to take on Brian Kelly and the Bayou Bengals in Baton Rouge.
