Twitter reacts to former Auburn star’s iconic flex on Week 9 opponent
Former Auburn football star Bo Nix led Oregon to a 35-6 blowout win over Utah in Salt Lake City on October 28, and in the aftermath, the Pinson product published a wild social media flex; a photo of Nix standing on the sidelines in front of a kid’s sign reading: “Bo can’t throw!”
Of course, Nix certainly can, dicing up the Utes with 248 passing yards and two passing touchdowns. He added another tuddy on the ground. But that certainly won’t stop the outrage toward the AU legacy who found a more prosperous home in the Pacific Northwest.
But social media still had plenty to say about the photo…
Ex-Auburn football star Bo Nix catches praise and strays from X for iconic flex
Of course, the polarizing Nix got varied reactions to his Instagram flex — with many calling him out for going so hard at some random kid from Utah and others appreciating Nix’s on-field and off-field performance.
“1. Is Bo Nix dunking on a child? 2. He can throw and threw very well that day,” joked one poster.
“He’s gonna end up a 49er & ruin the NFL for 6 years,” prophesized another poster.
“(He) got that 6-year-old good!” exclaimed another.
“I love this,” said Auburn Daily’s Zac Blackerby.
“He’s focused,” prefaced another poster before delivering the rest of the 2021 A-Day Nix Heisman monologue, “He’s having fun. I wouldn’t be surprised if he’s a dark horse for the Heisman.”
Nix certainly is having focused and fun, not only leading the charge for a Ducks squad that has occupied the top 15 for most of the 2023 season, and was ranked No. 6 in the first College Football Playoff rankings of the current campaign, but feeling liberated enough to do some trolling on social media.
A Heisman would be the ultimate flex, and if Oregon can run the table and take the Pac-12 crown, Nix will have that in the bag.
