It’s the season of the transfer portal, and on December 4, when the portal officially opens, things could get crazy. In this day and age, thousands of players enter the portal to look for playing opportunities elsewhere, and coaches will be looking for more depth for their teams, including the coaches of Auburn football.

While undergraduate players must wait for the official open windows of the transfer portal unless there are extenuating circumstances like a head coach being fired, graduate students are allowed to enter immediately, and they’ve already begun hitting the portal.

So far, the Auburn football program has extended three publicly known offers to players in the portal, all of whom are offensive linemen, per The Montgomery Advertiser.

The first is Alan Herron, who previously played for Shorter University. He was unranked as a prospect, but has received upwards of 30 offers since entering the portal after two seasons with Shorter. Other offers include Miami, Penn State, and Clemson.

Next up is Gerquan Scott, a former 3-star recruit who previously played at Southern Miss. An Alabama native, Scott redshirted in 2019 but became a starter for the Golden Eagles by 2021. After five seasons in Hattiesburg, Scott will be looking to finish his career at another school. His offers include Colorado, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, and others.

Finally, Auburn football also extended an offer to Easton Kilty, who was unranked as a prospect and then spent four years at North Dakota, ultimately becoming a consistent starter for the Fighting Hawks. Since entering the portal, Kilty has received offers from Texas Tech, Oklahoma State, Boston College, and others.

After a year where offensive line depth was so important to the success of Auburn football, it will be a big goal for the coaching staff to continue building up the OL room ahead of the 2024 season.
