With the regular season coming to a (disappointing) end, the Auburn football coaching staff is now turning their attention to recruitment. Though bowl season is fast approaching, December’s early national signing day—which is arguably the primary signing day nowadays—is even closer.
The coaching staff will be focusing on recruiting their own roster and keeping guys on the Plains while also working to lock down high school and JUCO recruits for the class of 2024 and polishing off the class with transfer portal additions. Light work, right?
The Tigers may have fallen short in this year’s Iron Bowl, but the atmosphere in Jordan-Hare Stadium was something to behold, and something that had a massive impact on all the recruits in attendance. One of those recruits, Favour Edwin, could be on the verge of committing to Auburn football.
Edwin is a 3-star offensive tackle out of Eagles Landing Christian Academy in McDonough, GA. He is ranked as the #55 offensive tackle in the recruiting class of 2024 and is the #69 recruit out of the Peach State. He has been to the Plains for three games this season, including the Iron Bowl.
According to Chad Simmons of On3, Auburn football is solidly in Edwin’s top two alongside Florida, who has earned two visits from the OT this season, but the other schools in his recruitment can’t be ruled out yet:
"Clemson is likely out for Edwin according to a source. Alabama is not out, but they look to be trailing Auburn and Florida. It is coming down to an SEC battle for one of the top uncommitted offensive tackles in the country."
Simmons went on to say that Edwin is “very comfortable” with the Auburn coaching staff, but nothing is set in stone until pen meets paper, and you can’t count out the Crimson Tide. Still, all signs point to Favour Edwin becoming an Auburn Tiger.
